HONG KONG – A SYMPHONY OF LIGHTS

The heartbeat of Hong Kong city beats loud and clear each night through the iconic skyline spectacle known as ”A Symphony of Lights”

WHERE /  HONG KONG   WHAT /  NIGHTLY CITY WIDE SPECTACULAR

A CONNECTED SKYLINE
THAT BRINGS A CITY TOGETHER

Every night, over 50 buildings across both sides of Victoria Harbour unite for a 10-minute powerful spectacular that synchronises a myriad of lights, lasers and LED screens that merge into a single canvas.

In 2004, amidst a financial crisis that faced Hong Kong, the Tourism commission had an audacious vision to unite its famous skyline into a synchronised showpiece. This was a world first, and still remains the only city able to coordinate private stakeholders and government institutions into one harmonious contribution.

In 2017, Artists in Motion was awarded the prestigious role of re-designing the iconic nightly show that is known worldwide as Hong Kong’s biggest tourist attraction. We started by composing and producing an original symphony that brought together more than 100 musicians to create an epic soundtrack worthy of a canvas of this scale and engaged the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra for the principle recording of this soundtrack - which seemed a fitting place to begin.

Next, AIM proudly transformed the Hong Kong skyline and rejuvenated what was a tired attraction into what is once again a world-leading spectacle.

AIM navigated through the complex logistical challenges that came with creating such an ambitious canvas and as a consequence has built an infrastructure that can now take this show into the future.

The revitalisation of this iconic show has spurred a new momentum amongst the non-contributing buildings to join and contribute to the show. We are very excited at the potential this show can and will continue to reach and our role in helping Hong Kong build upon its vibrant image.
