Drawn through the city's vibrant laneways and live music, audiences arrived at Carlton Gardens to discover the Royal Exhibition Building transformed before their eyes. The eight-minute projection began with the building suspended in an uncanny stillness before drifting into a deep sleep, marked by a countdown clock that invited viewers into a kaleidoscopic dreamscape.
Psychedelic visuals peeled back the building's façade to reveal eerie and whimsical worlds inhabited by winding clockwork toys, dancing skeletons and fluorescent carnival rides. Every sequence was meticulously mapped to the building's ornate architecture, creating the illusion that the historic landmark was breathing, shifting and opening portals into another dimension.
Blurring the line between reality and imagination, Rhythms of the Night became one of White Night's standout experiences, enchanting audiences from dusk until dawn and rekindling a sense of childlike wonder.
