For the Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Artists in Motion created an immersive projection experience celebrating the stories of three pioneering Saudi women through the visual language of Japanese manga.
Developed as a cultural dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Japan, the work explored leadership, ambition and identity through contemporary visual storytelling. The experience featured aerospace engineer Mishaal Ashemimry, Jomana Al Rashid, CEO of SRMG, and Rania Moualla, founder of the ZADK Culinary Arts Academy. Drawing on in-depth interviews, their personal journeys became the foundation for a series of hand-crafted animated films, presented as large-scale projections within the Pavilion. The installation offered visitors an intimate perspective on contemporary Saudi Arabia, celebrating the women shaping the Kingdom's future while reinforcing the cultural connection between Saudi Arabia and Japan through a distinctive and immersive artistic experience.
