'Become a Guardian of Al Wasl' was one of Artists in Motion’s most ambitious interactive undertakings for Expo 2020 Dubai.

Hosted inside the extraordinary Al Wasl Plaza, the experience combined large-scale projection, interactive pods, personalised digital avatars, facial recognition and real-time rendering to create a story that responded to each participant. At its centre was a simple, human idea: unity. Visitors were invited to take part in a quest to protect the planet, becoming digital guardians within the world of the Dome. Once created and activated, each personalised avatar would rise into Al Wasl’s vast projection environment and become part of a richly art-directed visual narrative shaped by AIM. The result was not simply something to watch. It was something to join. A public experience where technology served emotion, participation created connection, and every interaction helped bring the larger story to life.
